This time the painting went to Australia. We’re really happy that our paintings finding their way around the globe! :-)

One year ago we started Chessboardart on 7th July 2007. At that time we had no idea whether people would like our project as it took a kinda unique approach to combine the art of chess and art on the web. We are very happy that already 16 paintings have been sold to different countries around the globe making the new owners a part of this special project.

As we’ve been moving from eastern Germany to the Rhein-Main area we didn’t manage to really update this side. We still appreciate the positive feedback we received and wanna share one feedback of a happy customer.

We're really happy to see that 10 painting have been sold since the start of this project...making the new owners of the painting a part of the project. We hope that all the buyers enjoy their paintings and we're looking forward to the upcoming year!

We now received some feedback for the Xmas sales. They all arrived in well condition.

During the last weeks we had some more sales just before Xmas. If these were bought as presents we hope that the new owners enjoy their present.

One more painting sold - this time it's going to Switzerland

Recently our website has been down for several server problems - we apologize for any inconvenience caused by that.

As we've been informed by our provider there's been a problem with the system on Sunday, 23rd September, and a hardware defect on Tuesday, 25th September. During that time and following they had some problems with the settings for our website to be displayed correctly and also with the settings for our database.

We hope that everything is fixed by now and that there's no more problems concerning that issue. If you undergo any problem or would like to leave us a feedback please feel free to do so. We're always happy to hear from our visitors - be it feedback, inspirations, support.

Today we're seeing a peak in visiors and page views since the start of the project with more than 100 views up to now...of course still hope to raise these and to share the idea of Chessboardart with more people around the globe.

Just took a look at the log-files where the visitors are coming from - seem that this kind of conceptual art started a question and follow-up discussion on the art forum www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=102377.

It's been an exciting week for us with our first painting sold. We didn't expect anything in the beginning so we are more than happy that we could start off like that :-)

Right now we only can hope that it will go on like that during the upcoming weeks.

Today we, Ines and Annett are officially starting this new art project to combine chess and art in a new way.

The idea was born while surfing the web during the development of another art project. Being fascinated of chess and doing something special on the internet we wanted to combine these two and share this fascniation with people around the globe. The result is this website and the paintings that are sold on here. It's an experiment of chess and art on the web - we have no idea how it will be accepted, but we'd love to make it a global project.

As the website is pretty much ready by now we decided to start off on this very special day 07.07.07 - looks like a great day to start off with our art project!
